Biography

Dr Jared Miles is a proud Yuwi man, pharmacist and early-career researcher with interests spanning from culturally safe and effective pharmacy practice through to new technologies for pharmaceutical development and delivery. After graduating from UQ with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) in 2012, he worked as a community pharmacist before returning to undertake a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences. Jared is currently a Senior Lecturer with UQ School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and also works as a clinical and research pharmacist with the Institute of Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH).

Dr. Polonini has authored over 110 peer-reviewed publications and holds expertise in drug stability, nanotechnology, and transdermal delivery systems. He has also held academic positions, including professorship at Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Brazil). Dr. Polonini's work bridges academic research and industrial application, contributing significantly to the advancement of personalized medicine.

Biography

Dr. Anke de Leeuw is a Field Application Engineer at REGENHU, where she supports researchers in adopting advanced bioprinting technologies for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from ETH Zürich, where her research—conducted in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital Zürich—focused on developing 3D-printed, patient-specific bone organoids to study rare skeletal diseases. Her work combined biofabrication, biomechanics, and transcriptomics to model osteogenesis imperfecta in vitro and investigate treatment strategies. Anke has extensive experience in 3D cell culture, biological data analysis, and bioink development, and she has authored multiple scientific publications in the field. At REGENHU, she leverages this interdisciplinary background to help laboratories worldwide design and optimize complex bioprinting workflows, from material preparation to functional tissue models. Passionate about translational science, Anke plays a key role in bridging cutting-edge research with practical application, enabling the development of next-generation models for drug discovery and personalized medicine.

Biography

Ms. Dung Pham-Thi-Ngoc is an emerging researcher focused on recombinant protein expression and molecular immunology techniques. In her work titled Generation of therapeutic and diagnostic recombinant proteins in the periplasm of Escherichia coli W3110 ΔompC, she has contributed thoughtfully to the design and development of expression systems for proinsulin and the nanobody NTV1. Drawing upon a solid foundation in molecular biology and practical experience, Ms. Pham-Thi-Ngoc strives to bridge the gap between fundamental research and translational applications, aiming to advance meaningful diagnostic and therapeutic solutions. She values opportunities for collaboration and exchange with fellow scientists to foster continued innovation in the biotechnology field.
