Biography

Professor Sanjay Garg is a pharmaceutical scientist dedicated to advancing drug discovery, development, and delivery to transform the lives of human and animal patients. He is a Director of the Centre for Pharmaceutical Innovation (CPI) at Adelaide university. With over three decades of experience in drug discovery, development, and translational research, he has led groundbreaking work in novel drug delivery systems, anticancer therapies, antimicrobial formulations, and nanomedicine. Several of his formulations have reached clinical stages and the market, including Phexxi, approved by the US FDA and available in the USA as a prescription product. With the research team, he has published 290 peer-reviewed papers, authored 101 patents, and achieved an h-index of 70. A recipient of the APSA Medal 2015 and Research Degree Supervisor of the year in 2023, he has fostered international partnerships across Australia, USA, China, and beyond. Prof Garg brings visionary leadership to advance pharmaceutical innovation and collaboration.

Biography

Prof Lee Yong Lim heads the Laboratory for Drug Delivery and is the Deputy Director of the Institute for Paediatric Perioperative Excellence and the Centre for Optimisation of Medicine at the University of Western Australia. She leads a multi-disciplinary team to design, fabricate, evaluate and translate innovative delivery platforms to optimise therapeutic outcomes for the paediatric population. Her team has proven capacity to take a problematic drug from formulation to preclinical evaluation and finally to taste acceptance and pharmacokinetic trials, and has a record of developing successful drug delivery platforms for young children.

Prof Catherine Tuleu is Professor of Paediatric Pharmaceutics at the University College London School of Pharmacy, UK. Her translational research (h-index 40) focuses on developing innovative age-appropriate medicines for babies and children, pioneering sensory pharmaceutics towards better medicine acceptability. Prof Tuleu is the founder and chairperson of the European Paediatric Formulation Initiative (EuPFI), advancing drug product research and development for children.

Biography

Yunita Suffiana is a pharmacist with a master's degree in clinical pharmacy. She has been working as a clinical pharmacist since 2017 at Dr. Zainoel Abidin Public Hospital in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. She has specialized in pediatric pharmacy since 2019 and continues to focus on this field. Currently, she is responsible for pediatric medication management, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes for young patients, and compounding parenteral electrolyte nutrition for pediatric patients as prescribed by doctors. Yunita is also actively involved in hospital research and academic collaborations, mentoring undergraduate students and serving as a clinical preceptor. Additionally, she was a speaker at the 2024 National Annual Scientific Week of the Hospital Pharmacy Association in Semarang,where she presented a case study on antibiotic therapy monitoring in pediatric patients with a focus on pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics. She is committed to advancing pharmaceutical care for children and continuously explores innovative approaches to improve medication safety and efficacy.

Biography

Dr Wong Jia Woei is a Senior Lecturer with the School of Pharmacy at Taylor’s University since Jan 2022. She earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and later completed her Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Technology from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Before joining Taylor’s University, she has been working for more than 20 years in research & development in the pharmaceutical industry and has been instrumental in planning, implementing and overseeing research activities of the company. She has contributed significantly to the field, having published more than 35 peer reviewed articles. Currently, her research is focused on the development of drug delivery systems and explore novel strategies to advance oral solid dosage forms. Her work aims to enhance oral bioavailability and ease of administration with a particular focus on tocotrienols.

Prof Pornsak Sriamornsak

Professor Dr. Pornsak Sriamornsak is Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Silpakorn University and a prominent researcher in drug delivery systems. He earned his PhD in Pharmaceutics from Charles Sturt University, Australia, supported by prestigious scholarships. A Professor since 2012, he has held key leadership roles, including Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research at Silpakorn University and President of the Council of Pharmacy Deans of Thailand. Internationally recognized, he serves as Vice President of the Asian Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences and Associate Editor of Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy. His research focuses on biopolymer-based delivery systems and 3D printing, with over 240 international publications, several patents, and awards such as the FAPA Ishidate Award. Since 2020, he has been consistently ranked among the World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists by Stanford University, underscoring his global impact in pharmaceutical sciences.
