Details
The ANZ Prescribing Skills Assessment is a competency-based examination designed to evaluate the prescribing skills of final and penultimate year medical students prior to entry into the health workforce. Over the last decade, ASCEPT members have been integral to regionalising the BPS-generated Prescribing Safety Assessment for implementation in 14/21 ANZ medical schools. With high uptake in our region, ASCEPT is in the process of generating our own PSA examination in the same model with 100% content generated by Australasian clinical pharmacology educators.
This workshop is designed to develop 100 new questions for the 2026 ANZ PSA examination. Educators from clinical pharmacology, pharmacy and other medicine specialities are invited to participate in this workshop. Participants will rotate through three of the eight possible question formats to develop three draft questions. We will also investigate the use of AI in the initial drafting stage to explore how AI can speed up the efficiency of question writing. Time will be allocated to provide peer feedback on the initial draft questions.
