Presentation description

As educators, fostering creativity and innovation in our students is paramount. This engaging workshop is designed to equip teachers with a toolkit of hands-on activities aimed at igniting their students' creativity and boosting their confidence to participate in the design process. Through interactive demonstrations and practical exercises, attendees will explore a variety of strategies to inspire and empower the next generation of designers thinking innovators.

Biography

According to his email signature Stephen Anderson is a Design/Tech, Trade, and accidental Science teacher, teaching in a rural school about 2 & ½ hours from Brisbane. Stephen is a committee member of the Design and Technology Teachers Association of Queensland and takes the responsibility of producing and hosting the association podcast, and MC of the annual conference. He is also a committee member of the Queensland pedal prix super-series and event coordinator of the Ipswich race. As the 2023/4 Queensland Cooper Hewitt Fellow Stephen spent 12 weeks working at the National Design Museum in New York. While there his time was spent creating a grass roots program designed to give new teachers of Design & Technology access to the skills and tactics to generate ideas and therefor the confidence to pass onto their students.
