Designing quality assessment in Design and Technologies: Strategies for 7–10
Presentation description
Assessment is more than just measuring student learning—it’s a tool for deepening understanding, guiding progress, and fostering innovation. This session will equip Design and Technologies teachers with strategies to create high-quality assessments, including examinations, investigations, and projects, that align with the Australian Curriculum.
Explore the attributes of effective assessment and how to craft tasks that challenge and support students at varying levels of complexity. Learn how to design valid, accessible, and engaging assessments, develop task-specific marking guides using QCAA standards elaborations, and make informed, standards-based judgments.
Join us for practical insights, hands-on activities, and access to key QCAA resources to enhance your assessment design. Whether you're refining existing practices or seeking new strategies, this session will provide valuable tools to elevate assessment in your Design and Technologies classroom.
