Dr Tracii Ryan is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Melbourne. With a background in psychology, her research focuses on the university student experience, with particular expertise in student mental health, wellbeing, and belonging. Dr Ryan is a Chief Investigator on the Australian Research Council–funded Discovery Project Uni Student Wellbeing, through which her work has advanced understanding of the course- and institution-level experiences associated with psychological distress and wellbeing among university students. She is a co-founder of the Uni Student Wellbeing Research Hub and lead editor of the recent book University Student Wellbeing in an Uncertain Future: Research, Policy, Practice. She has strong expertise in mixed methods research design, as well as survey design and analysis, and regularly works with institutional leaders to evaluate programs aimed at enhancing the student experience and measuring key aspects of campus climate.

Aylwin Sim is an educational developer with a background in Computer Science and an MPhil research degree focused on interpretable machine learning. He has worked across Australian higher education institutions and is currently based at the University of New South Wales. His work sits at the intersection of educational technology, artificial intelligence, and learning and teaching. He works closely with educators to translate pedagogical theory into practical teaching solutions. His interests include human-in-the-loop AI systems to improve process productivity in higher education as well as designing and deploying AI to improve learning and teaching. His current work involves implementing and evaluating AI virtual patient platforms for clinical communication training in health professions education and leading the development of ⁠OpenBook to create an inclusive and accessible online learning grounded in UDL framework. The OpenBook project has received the 2025 UNSW Scientia Education Academy Exemplary Teaching Practice Award.

Jon Cai is a Senior Education Developer (Medicine & Health) in the Nexus Program at UNSW Sydney, where he works at the intersection of curriculum innovation, educational technology, and inclusive learning design. In this role, Jon partners with academics, program leaders, and professional staff across faculties to design and implement scalable, system-level solutions that enhance student learning, assessment, and wellbeing. His work focuses on inclusive and accessible learning design, programmatic assessment, feedback practices, and the use of digital tools, including AI-enabled approaches, to improve engagement and equity at scale. With a strong background in learning design, web technologies, and data-informed practice, Jon is known for translating complex pedagogical and technical challenges into practical, sustainable solutions embedded within institutional platforms. His interests include Universal Design for Learning, educational innovation in health professions education, and large-scale transformation in higher education.

Associate Professor Natalie Warburton (PhD; GradDipEd; BScHons; ATCL; SFHEA) is a dedicated educator and researcher, focused on advancing teaching methods and curriculum in Animal Science, Biomedical Science, Forensic Science, and Veterinary Science. She champions student engagement and inclusivity, mentoring colleagues and junior staff. Her leadership in higher education is recognised through awards including the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence in Learning and Teaching (2015, 2025), a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy (2017), and a 2025 citation for supporting first-year student transitions at the College of Environmental and Life Sciences.
