Emma Power is an experienced education-focused lecturer at the University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Business and Economics. Rajarajeswari (Raje) Rajasekaran is an academic leader and doctoral researcher specialising in simulation-based education, virtual reality, and clinical deterioration training in undergraduate nursing. As the Simulation Academic Lead at Swinburne University of Technology and doctoral PhD candidate from RMIT University, I drive innovation in immersive learning design, curriculum development and assessment reform. My work integrates experiential learning theory, mixed-reality technologies, and evidence-based simulation frameworks to enhance clinical judgement and student preparedness for real-world practice. With a strong background in critical care nursing education and practice acquired from Singapore and Australia and commitment to student-centred pedagogy, I contribute to sector-wide conversations on equity, quality, and the future of technology-enhanced learning. My PhD journey develops a conceptual framework for virtual reality simulation to strengthen early recognition of clinical deterioration, offering new insights for educators, researchers and simulation practitioners.
