Kyla Raby is an anti-slavery specialist whose work spans law, criminology, and higher education practice. She is nearing completion of her PhD at Adelaide University, where her research critically analyses Australia’s Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth). She holds a Master of Public and International Law, a BA in International Relations, and a Bachelor of Journalism. Kyla is co-author of Modern Slavery in Australia, a leading text on law and policy in this field. Her research on modern slavery crime and victimology has been published in international journals. She has taught across several Australian universities and currently teaches criminology at Flinders University. She is also a founding member of the Educating for Change project, embedding anti-slavery education into university curricula. Her international practice designing survivor support programs informs her research and teaching. She also consults with the Australian Red Cross and serves as a Non-Executive Director of NGO Be Slavery Free.

I am a teaching academic with extensive teaching experience in Australia and overseas. I started my career as a lecturer in Pakistan and have been involved in teaching accounting and finance courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I am a recipient of the Excellence in Teaching award from the University of Adelaide (2017) and the Unstoppable Teaching award from the University of South Australia (2024). As a fellow member of CPA Australia, my teaching practices are informed by the contemporary demands of the accounting profession. My research interests are in the areas of accounting education.

Dr. Jennifer Z. Sun (SFHEA) is a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Sydney, focusing her research on assessment and feedback design that fosters sustainable learning practices to encourage student growth and development. She is passionate about building meaningful student-staff partnerships, believing these collaborations are essential for creating transformative learning experiences.

Dr Mark Freeman is a Senior Lecturer (education-focused) in the discipline of Business Information Systems and the Dalyell Program Director at the University of Sydney Business School. Mark is acknowledged as an outstanding educational innovator who utilises creative pedagogical approaches and modern technologies to enhance students’ learning experiences. He holds a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology, a Master of Education (Higher Education) and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Wollongong. He has published his work, discipline-focused research in journals, including Computers in Human Behavior, IEEE Transactions on Technology and Society, Journal of Medical Systems and Journal of Enterprise Information Management, and at several international conferences. His focus on IS education has also been widely recognised, with his latest work on storytelling and AI chatbots receiving the Best Paper Award at the AIS SIGED International Conference on Information Systems Education and Research in 2024.
