His diverse roles as a TV news producer and an intelligence and assistance specialist provided valuable insights into the fields of communication, media, and security, enabling him to create a dynamic and multifaceted learning environment, connecting real-world scenarios with theoretical concepts. With over a decade in education, Tony's teaching philosophy integrates language nuances with insights into current affairs and regional politics, creating an engaging curriculum. Dr. Lulu Liu is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Higher Education, Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), China. She received her PhD in Education from the School of Education at Tsinghua University. Her research interests center on graduate education, with a particular focus on doctoral students’ training models, original innovation motivation, academic socialization, and developmental resilience. Methodologically, her work is grounded in qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, with attention to how institutional structures, organizational arrangements, and policy environments shape doctoral students’ learning experiences and developmental trajectories. Her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Higher Education Research & Development and China Higher Education Research. Through her work, she seeks to contribute to international debates on doctoral education reform, research capacity development, and the governance of higher education systems in a globally competitive context.

Dr Safiya Okai-Ugbaje is a Senior Lecturer at the ANU School of Cybernetics. She convenes and co-teaches a course deeply rooted in multidisciplinary education where students learn the basics and core concepts of building technological systems from the ground up. She is an information systems and educational technologies researcher interested in emerging technologies and passionate about going beyond theoretical propositions to the practical and sustainable applications of these theories. Safiya is a passionate educator who leverages the research-led teaching and research-informed by teaching philosophy. Safiya’s research also entails leveraging the benefits of AI while upholding the depth and rigor of higher education learning.

Jinqi is a Senior Interdisciplinary Lecturer in Interdisciplinary Education within Interdisciplinary and Engaged Learning, Division of Curriculum Futures at the University of Sydney. She collaborates with industry, community, and government partners to design and deliver interdisciplinary Industry and Community Projects for students across all faculties. Her teaching focuses on leading senior student teams to address authentic industry challenges and develop innovative, socially responsive solutions. Her research spans diversity in education, international and intercultural learning, interdisciplinary pedagogy, and Confucian Heritage Culture (CHC) education. She works with practice based methodologies, including collaborative ethnography and participatory action research, to investigate how students navigate cultural, disciplinary, and professional differences in collaborative learning environments.
