Dr Matthew Arnold is a Senior Lecturer and Education Specialist. Matt has a background in Medicine, and co-coordinates first year courses within the Medical Program, leads the Scenario-Based Learning (SBL) curriculum and co-coordinates a near-peer teaching elective. Matt recently recently undertook a role as an Academic Lead in the University's 'Empowered Educators' professional learning series, supporting colleagues in enhancing their teaching practices to improve the student experience.

Dr Hayley McGrice is an enthusiastic Education Specialist who has provided exemplary leadership in learning and teaching across the University of Adelaide through her sustained work in the Communities of Practice, the ADEPT & Empowered Educators professional development program, and as the Associate Dean Learning Quality and Student Experience in the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology. Hayley is passionate about improving the student experience through inclusion of students as partners and actively listening to the student voice at all levels of university operations and governance. Hayley was recognised for her outstanding leadership and practice in 2023 when she received a Stephen Cole the Elder Award for excellence in the leadership, support and enhancement of teaching.

Alicia Jacenko worked as an Education Staff Developer within the Business Education Portfolio at UNSW from 2021-2025. She collaborated with colleagues in the redesign and implementation of the Tutor Training Program, drawing on her experiences in education, innovation strategy and design futuring.

Laura is a dedicated and highly skilled curriculum and learning specialist who leads collaborative teaching, training, and professional learning across a variety of international contexts. Laura focuses on building capability to enhance quality teaching and learning in higher education, and she is a strong advocate for continued professional learning.

Associate Professor Alex Bannigan is a biologist and educator who joined Macquarie University in February 2025 as the Head of Macquarie Academy. She discovered the transformative potential of teacher development when, in her first academic job, she realised that she had never been taught anything about education, and yet was expected to teach – and well! Alex believes very much in the value of peer learning and community for developing inspiring, joyful, and meaningful learning experiences.

Jiapei Xia has obtained a PhD in Education from UNSW, 3 master's degrees in TESOL, TESOL Research, and International Language Education. Her research interest includes students' experiences in higher education, teacher education, and English as a second language learning. Her teaching experiences include academic English teaching at UNSW College, 5th-grade teaching in Utah, and SAT teacher for ESL students in California.
