9:00 AM - 11:00 AM |
SingHealth Academy - Seminar room L1-S3 |
Details
TDM studies and guidance on their conduct have gained more relevance recently. Here we would like to highlight the guidance from a recent review focusing on designing a TDM study in infectious diseases and takeaways from recent RCTs focusing on TDM.
The aim of this session is to present key elements of TDM study design, lessons learned from RCTs focusing on the major antibiotic classes used in clinical practice: glycopeptides, beta-lactams, and antituberculosis drugs.
Learning objectives:
Attendees will come away from this session with:
• a deeper understanding of TDM study design
• pitfalls and challenges of trial conduct
• knowledge on directions for future research

Pieter De Cock
Presenter
Biography
Pieter De Cock is an Associate Professor in Clinical Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Ghent University, Belgium, and a hospital pharmacist–clinical pharmacologist at Ghent University Hospital. At Ghent University, Pieter De Cock leads the Ghent Precision Dosing Research Unit, which focuses on (i) pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) clinical research in special patient populations and, (ii) the clinical implementation of model-informed precision dosing (MIPD) tools. Currently, he is the principal investigator on three randomized clinical trials evaluating the added value of MIPD for anti-infective therapies. As a clinical pharmacist and member of the dosing advisory service at the hospital pharmacy of Ghent University Hospital, he is also involved in the day-to-day optimization of TDM-based dosing.
Dr Anne-Grete MÃrtson
