Biography

Associate Professor Steven Walker is an experienced clinical pharmacist and the current Director of Experiential Development and Graduate Education (EDGE) at Monash University. In this role, he leads a team of academics to produce and coordinate postgraduate studies to support intern and registered pharmacists. This includes the Monash University Intern Programs, Medication Management Review/Aged Care On-site Pharmacist microcredentials and the Graduate Certificate of Pharmacist Prescribing. His education research interests are in therapeutic reasoning, interprofessional collaboration and competency based education.

A/Prof Mark Cheong Wing Loong

Biography

Dr Mark Cheong Wing Loong is currently the Deputy Head of School (Education) at the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. His research focuses on improving access to health systems and healthcare services, and how palliative care approaches can improve healthcare for all. Dr Cheong also studies the lived experiences of people who interact with, use, or work in healthcare systems, as well as unmet needs of people living with complex life-limiting illnesses. Dr Cheong has been a collaborator and consultant with both Malaysian and international civil society organizations on health advocacy projects on palliative care, access to medicines and healthcare, and health inequalities. Dr Cheong is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Maybank ASEAN Research Center at the Asia School of Business, and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH, UK). He was previously a Visiting Fellow at the United Nations University – International Institute for Global Health. He is also a member of the National Palliative Care Services Development Committee, Ministry of Health Malaysia. Dr Cheong is a registered pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia.

Biography

Kathryn Morbitzer is an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean in the Office of Professional Education at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and serves as the Associate Director for Strategy for the Center for Innovative Pharmacy Education & Research (CIPhER). In these roles, she leads and supports initiatives focused on advancing pharmacy education, including teaching and learning innovation, student individualization opportunities, research skill development, and the integration of artificial intelligence into educational practice. Her scholarly interests center on educational innovation, assessment and evaluation, and the ethical use of AI to enhance student learning and teaching practices. She holds a PharmD from Wayne State University and an MS in Biomedical and Health Informatics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has completed both a PGY1 pharmacy residency and an academic research fellowship.
