‘The Gift’ is a collaboration between Miners’ Promise and the team at Acting Consulting Training (ACT) Australia. ‘The Gift’ and its fictional characters are based on 15 years of Miners’ Promise experience supporting families, companies and communities in the aftermath of tragedy.
Through deep encounters with three characters, a Senior Site Executive, a Construction Superintendent, and a family member we journey from the moment of tragedy to two years later.
Professionally written, produced and delivered, ‘The Gift’ is a story of compassion, resilience, connection, recovery and hope.
The use of industrial theatre creates a safe space for a conversation that challenges us deeply; as much as we do all we can to prevent tragedy, accidents happen, and when they do, providing the best possible care in the toughest of times is what counts.

Biography
Rodo De Boer is an experienced resources sector leader with over 35 years in mining and oil and gas across Australia and internationally. He has held senior leadership roles spanning operations, health, safety and training, where he has led large, multi-disciplinary teams and delivered organisational strategy with a strong focus on performance, compliance and innovation.
Rodo is known for driving positive safety cultures and achieving industry-leading improvements in operational performance. He brings a collaborative leadership style and a proven ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, underpinned by a trusted and extensive industry network.

Biography
Deb Morrow is a seasoned executive and board director with 30 years’ experience in mining, oil and gas, and not-for-profit leadership. Known for her courage and care for people Deb has led multi-billion-dollar projects and held global c-suite roles at OZ Minerals and Woodside across Project Delivery, HS&E and cultural transformation.
As current Chair of Holyoake, Executive Director of Miners’ Promise, Non-Executive Director at GR Engineering Services and CEO of Bia Energy Solutions, Deb brings strategic clarity and human-focused leadership to every role. Her authenticity, resilience, and advocacy for health, safety and wellbeing have earned her major awards recognition.
