Fatal outcomes following poisoning and adverse drug reaction (ADR) admissions

Abstract

Biography

Nick Buckley (MD FRACP) is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Sydney, a consultant clinical toxicologist at the NSW Poisons Information Centre and RPA Hospital, Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Australian Medicines Handbook, Deputy Editor of Clinical Toxicology, a past President of The Asia Pacific Association of Medical Toxicology, and Research Director of the South Asian Clinical Toxicology Research Collaboration (SACTRC- http://www.sactrc.org). SACTRC does clinical and public health research on pesticides, plant & pharmaceutical poisoning, snakebite, translation into practice, neurotoxicity and kidney biomarkers. In Australia, his research has largely been clinical, epidemiological and pharmaco-epidemiological studies on analgesic and psychotropic drug poisoning & misuse. His research has attracted continuous project and program funding since 2002 which has resulted in an extensive publication record including 480+ peer reviewed journal articles and 25 book chapters.

Biography

Dr. Khaliun Nyambayar, MD., PhD, is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in the Pharmacology Department at the School of Bio-Medicine, Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS), Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. She completed her medical and master’s degree in Mongolia and earned her PhD from the Graduate School of Tokyo Medical and Dental University in Japan. Her main research areas include clinical pharmacology, drug safety, pharmacovigilance, antimicrobial use, and cardiovascular pharmacology. She has collaborated on several international research projects, presented at multiple scientific conferences, and published studies on antimicrobial use, drug safety, and the pharmacological effects of Mongolian medicinal plants. Dr. Nyambayar also serves as a Drug Registration Expert at the Ministry of Health of Mongolia.

Kajol Singh completed her Bachelor in Pharmacy with a specialisation in Herbal Cosmetics. She is currently working as a Therapy Manager in the Neuroscience Division at Gentech HealthCare Pvt Ltd, one of India’s leading healthcare organisations. In this role, she is involved in promoting evidence-based therapeutic solutions and engaging with clinicians on optimising patient outcomes in neurology and psychiatry. Alongside her professional responsibilities, she is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) part-time, further strengthening her skills at the interface of healthcare, management and innovation.
