Biography

Toni is a PhD student from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Sydney. Her research is on understanding the pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacogenomic properties of commonly prescribed fertility mediations to inform optimal use of medications in practice.

Biography

Dr Georgina Hughes is an early career pharmacist researcher and works as a Research Fellow at the University of South Australia. Georgina's research focuses on using real-world data to support quality use of medicines among older people who access aged care services. Georgina undertook her PhD with UniSA and the Registry of Senior Australians. Her PhD used big data to explore the real-world use and safety of antidepressant medicines among older people living in aged care homes. Georgina is passionate about research that informs the safe and effective use of medicines and the best utilisation of pharmacists' skills within aged and healthcare systems to optimise care and overall outcomes for older people.

Edward is a community pharmacist in Australia and PhD student at the University of Sydney with a research interest in pharmacoepidemiology in older people, especially people living with dementia in community settings in Australia. He is particularly interested in the prevalence, risk factors and outcomes of high-risk prescribing in this population. His research is aimed at improving the safety and effectiveness of medication use in people living with dementia.

Dr. Manish Bajpai, MBBS, MD, FRCP (Edinburg), is a Professor in the Department of Physiology at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, India. His primary areas of interest are cardiovascular physiology and physiology education. Dr. Bajpai has authored 40 original publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals, reflecting his significant contributions to the field. He has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the APPI Best Teacher Award (2023) and the Prof. R. C. Shukla Oration Award for Cardiovascular Physiology from the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India (APPI). He is an active member of professional societies such as the American Physiological Society, the International Society of Heart Research, and the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India. Through his research, teaching, and professional engagement, Dr. Bajpai has made notable contributions to cardiovascular science and the education of future physiologists in India.
