Biography
Australian World Music artist Mitch Tambo is celebrated as "a new voice for a generation," creating music that bridges cultures and resonates with audiences around the world. His debut album, Guurrama-Li, topped the iTunes Worldwide charts in multiple countries, reaching #1 in Australia, Denmark, and Malta, #2 in the UK, and #34 in the United States. His acclaimed rendition of You're the Voice became the first song performed in the Gamilaraay language to surpass one million streams.
As a Sony Music Australia recording artist, Mitch released a series of chart-topping singles, including You're the Voice, Together, Love, Absolutely Everybody, Dreamtime Princess, Heal, Great Southern Land, Silent Night, Yugal Yulu-gi, and Away in a Manger. Collectively, these releases achieved an impressive 14 consecutive #1 positions on the iTunes World Music Charts.
Now an independent artist under his own label, Walanbaa Music, Mitch continues to inspire audiences through music that celebrates culture, connection, and storytelling. His achievements have been recognised with nominations for New Talent of the Year at the National Indigenous Music Awards, two Golden Guitar Awards for Come Together (with Lee Kernaghan and Isaiah Firebrace), and Best Pop Work and the MAV Diasporas Award at the Music Victoria Awards.
