Biography

Jian Gao , a chief pharmacist, doctoral supervisor, and postdoctoral supervisor, serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Translational Medicine Research Institute at the Children's Medical Center (Shanghai) and Shanghai Children's Medical Center,School of Medicine,Shanghai Jiao Tong University . He is also a Young Qihuang Scholar of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. His primary research interests lie in the pharmacology of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, respiratory pharmacology, and the effects and mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing and treating pulmonary fibrosis. Gao Jian holds the position of chairman of the Special Committee on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Pharmacology of the Shanghai Pharmacological Society, is the first editor-in-chief of the undergraduate clinical medicine planning textbook "Clinical Pharmacotherapy" (case version) published by Science Press, and is an editorial board member of the "Journal of Integrative Medicine". He has successfully led six projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Biography

Elaine Koh is a student of the University of Melbourne of the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology. Her honours year research focused on investigating anti-fibrotic drug efficacy in Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). This research characterised select interactions between Fibroblast growth factor 2 and a drug, Nintedanib, in influencing either pro- or anti-fibrogenic behaviour in pulmonary fibroblasts.
