Details
The International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology Education Section Core Concepts project (IUPHAR-Ed CCP) has brought together over 300 educators and 1200 students from 26 countries. The aim of the project is to ensure that pharmacology students around the world can understand and apply these the core concepts of our discipline – the cognitive tools they need to succeed in their professions. The symposium will share this project with all pharmacology educators, including numerous resources, and an invitation to join the Expert Group. The talks will include the co-leads of the project, Prof Clare Guilding, Dr Roisin Kelly-Laubscher and Prof Paul White, and an Ethiopian PhD student, Adeladlew Netere. They will include our efforts to identify 24 core concepts (White et al., BJP 2023) and unpack those concepts (Guilding et al., BJP 2024), as well as current work to explore student understandings and misconceptions (under review at EJP).
