Andrew is a metallurgist by training and with post graduate qualifications in production management. He started as melting shop manager in a UK iron foundry and progressed to be owner manager of one of the UK's largest iron foundries. In the early 2000's he set up his own business to provide technical and business consultancy to the global foundry industry. In this role he became General Secretary of the World Foundry Organisation, developing it into the go to organisation globally for the foundry sector, representing 30 countries and supporting several working groups. He handed the baton over to the new General Secretary, José Javier Gonzalez of Spain last year after 25 years in the role. He is passionate about the promotion and support of the castings industry and remains involved with the WFO and working in training in the UK.
