Biography

Shashi Nallaya is a Senior Lecturer: Academic Development at the Teaching Innovation Unit, University of South Australia. Her niche areas are assessments as well as language and literacies. She represents her colleagues at UniSA's Authentic Assessment Steering Group. She also played an instrumental role in the curation of UniSA's authentic assessment definition and building staff capacity to use the definition to reflect on their current assessment practices. She works with academic staff to write scenario statements that reflect the degree of authenticity, for their assessments, Shashi also supports academic staff to design authentic assessments. She also currently leads UniSA's Summative Peer Review of Teaching portfolio.

Biography

Sheridan Gentili is the Director: Teaching Innovation Unit (TIU) at the University of South Australia. She has a Ph.D. in Physiology and a Graduate Diploma in Biostatistics. As Director, she works with colleagues across the University to deliver strategic teaching and learning initiatives including the Authentic Assessment Project, and UniSA Online. She also provides leadership in the area of academic integrity at UniSA. Sheridan is passionate about helping build staff capacity by recognising excellence and empowering academic staff to translate their discipline expertise into transformative learning experiences for our students, drawing on the latest in curriculum design and delivery, and technology.

Biography

Dr David Birbeck is the Head: Curriculum Development and Support at the University of South Australia. David led the Office of Learning and Teaching funded Course Handover tool (CHATTS) which sought to support the integrity of courses when handed over to another educator. Understanding the experiences and opportunities available to university educators, in terms of both capacity building and wellbeing is central to his current role and research.

Louise Maddock (SFHEA) is a Senior Consultant (Learning & Teaching) in the Centre for Learning Futures and a member of the Griffith Institute for Educational Research at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Australia. Louise's research interests include using cultural, social and political lenses to explore educational practices, practice architectures and ecologies of practices related to academic middle leading; program leadership; program development; and democratic, inclusive and sustainable education in universities.
