Biography

Dr Hossein Hosseini (MA in TESOL & Cambridge CELTA) completed his PhD in Education at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand where he works as the Test Centre Manager. He oversees all the processes related to the delivery of the IELTS, under the auspices of IDP Australia. Hossein’s passion for improving different aspects of integrity in academia derives from his academic and professional experiences, including more than 22 years of work in the ESOL environment as well as his PhD study. His doctoral thesis explored both socio-cultural and academic complexities that a cohort of doctoral research candidates from their Iranian Non-Western background experienced in their Western framed academic institutions in New Zealand. As an emergent researcher in international higher education, Hossein is committed to exploring constructive inter-civilizational dialogues and providing a mutual in-depth understanding of diverse knowledge traditions by bridging the gaps that can exist within cross/intercultural spaces.

Biography

Muhammad Ali Musofer is a PhD candidate(final year) at the School of Education, University of Queensland. His doctoral research engages with the experience of the female postgraduate refugee background students about their journeying to postgraduate studies. His research and teaching interests are in youth development and leadership, disadvantaged students participation in higher education, globalization and education. Muhammad Ali has worked as teacher educator and youth educator in different community educational organizations and university.
