Biography

Michael is a psychologist and an academic trying to find the best ways of helping others, and to then put them into practice. He’s a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Queensland. His research focuses on creating effective, scalable educational programs. He has over 30 publications in the last 4 years and over $3,694,120 in C1 research grants. He has led or mentored the lead for 6 university teaching development grants (totalling $134,750). He co-founded INSPIRE, a world-first evidence-centre for learning and teaching in universities. INSPIRE creates, curates, and disseminates evidence for what works in higher ed. He has received 9 awards for teaching including an AAUT, a SFHEA, and a VC’s Award. With his teaching and his research, he wants to help people do good, better.

Biography

Theresa Harvey has many years of nursing and midwifery experience as a clinician, lecturer, and student. Her background has spanned numerous specialty areas assisting her to work throughout Australia and overseas. The variety of clinical and management experience has provided Theresa with a wealth of knowledge to draw upon as an educator and academic. Theresa has held senior academic leadership roles enabling her to be the key liaison between industry and academia and thus has worked extensively with hospital management and clinicians. This has assisted her to remain connected to the clinical area, which provides her with a great understanding of the complexity of the current healthcare landscape and the constraints within which healthcare staff must work. Theresa is passionate about providing authentic and meaningful learning experiences for students, with her research areas of interest related to clinical education and the development of students as global citizens with global competencies.

Biography

Jacqui has extensive experience in clinical, education, management & research roles. She has 18 years’ experience in teaching and learning within the tertiary sector and many years of clinical education experience prior to this. Her research focus has been in primary health care and teaching and learning and she has published in these areas. She is the Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Nursing within the school (Brisbane Campus) and has an interest in understanding how students learn from international collaborative experiences.

Biography

Celine is a clinical psychology registrar and a Lecturer of Clinical Psychology at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Celine is particularly interested in better understanding the most successful teaching methods that support psychology trainees to develop the skills and knowledge they require to become effective clinicians and researchers in the future. She is also passionate about better understanding the most effective preventative mental health practices. Her clinical experiences span both public and private mental health services. She is currently working clinically with NDIS participants providing (neuro)psychological assessments and therapy services.
