I am a lecturer in finance at the University of Sydney. From years of practice, I have developed a strong passion for educational research, with a focus on first-year transition pedagogy, academic integrity, and sustainable learning. My practices focus on designing authentic assessments and creating a feedback loop to promote student learning experiences and learning outcomes. I have a growing interest in student-staff partnerships to make the course inclusive and engaging for students.

Biography

Karen is the Manager of Learning & Teaching at RMIT University Vietnam. Karen has worked in education for 16 years as a teacher and academic manager in English language teaching, higher education pathway programs, migrant education programs and the higher education sector, in Australia, Nauru and Vietnam. She is the recipient of two Australian national awards in the ELICOS sector, The Award for Academic Leadership for her contribution to professional development of teachers and Contribution to Professional Practice for her research into teaching strategies for extensive reading. Karen is passionate about continuous professional learning.

Phuc Diem Le is the Teaching and Learning Specialist at RMIT Vietnam. She has been working in higher education since 2008 as a lecturer and teacher trainer in English language teaching, English language teaching methodology, language testing and assessment. She finished her PhD in Language Testing and Assessment at the University of Queensland, Australia. Her research interest and publications are about general education assessment and language testing and assessment, and academic development.

Biography

Dr Dongmei Li is a lecturer (teaching specialist) in internationalisation and diversity in the Arts Teaching Innovation team at the Faculty of Arts, University of Melbourne. Mei’s key teaching and research areas are higher education internationalisation, learning equity, internationalisation and indigeneity, and academic development in those topics. Currently, Mei is working on two research projects: an orientation program to connect commencing international students with Australian Indigenous cultures (funded by the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies) and student perspectives of internationalisation (Funded by Unimelb Early Career Research Scheme). Mei is also a co-founder of the INTED conference established in 2021. Come talk to Mei about her two projects and the INTED conference!

Associate Professor Denise Blanchard is the Head of the School of Nursing at the Eastern Institute of Technology/Te Pukenga, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. She teaches research and has successfully supervised Higher Degree Research students from Honours to PhD. Denise is particularly interested in evidence-based health care and the transfer of evidence into clinical nursing practice, cultural safety, long-term conditions and the patient perspective of healthcare. She has undertaken research and practice development projects focusing on transport for older people, Parkinson’s and long-term conditions. Her focus on simulation in education has developed to maintain current knowledge and develop new expertise while devising high-quality simulation experiences to meet the educational needs of the learners. Achievements and innovations in teaching include leading simulation education development to support student success.
