Biography

Geraldine Hardie is both a PhD student and teaching academic in the School of Business in the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Wollongong. Pre academia, Geraldine worked in various Human Resource Management roles for profit and not for profit organisations developing learning resources. Her research aims to investigate inclusion in higher education and develop support systems to promote inclusion in higher education. Her work has been published in the Academy of Management Conference Proceedings (2021, 2022), the International Journal of Work-Integrated Learning, the International Journal of Management Education and the Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice.

Biography

Dr. Claire Quilliam is a Research Fellow with the Department of Rural Health, The University of Melbourne, based in Shepparton, Victoria. Claire holds a PhD in Social Work and Social Policy (La Trobe University), and a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Hons) (Deakin University). Her research explores sustainable rural health workforce mechanisms, including study supports for rural mature-aged health higher education students), and access to health and human services for rural people, particularly rural people with disability.

Biography

Dr Jodi Sita has over 20 years’ experience in the Higher Education Industry and has a broad understanding of the major issues facing universities and academic staff today. She is currently the Learning and Teaching Coordinator for the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Australian Catholic University and until recently was the Deputy Head of School in the School of Behavioural and Health Sciences in Melbourne. Jodi is a passionate educator who has a GCHE and is a Senior Fellow of the HEA. She has been national course convenor for several large national units over the last 10 years and is currently developing and teaching capstone units in the biomedical sciences. Jodi’s current scholarly interests include developing frameworks for enabling student success as well as authentic assessment and curriculum design and student and staff engagement. Jodi is very active in promoting and enabling staff professional development opportunities, mentoring staff and working with the university community to facilitate collaboration across university divisions to address the complex challenges around student retention, student engagement, learning and success.
