Biography

Lauren Hansen is an educator, researcher and welfare practitioner. She is currently a Senior Lecturer, Learning Futures in the Teaching Capability team at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. Lauren has previously held lecturing positions in Career Education and Social Work Field Education and is particularly interested in the intersection of the self, education and employment. She is an ICF-certified life coach and has a PhD in the social work discipline from Monash University. Lauren's practice experience includes working with mothers, both in the community and in private practice, to re-engage with education and meaningful employment.

Biography

Danni McCarthy’s research interests lie in practice-led research projects that explore the ethics of relationships at the interstices of bodies and technologies. She has a background in Education, Learning Design, the Arts and has recently submitted her PhD in the School of Communication and Creative Arts, Deakin University. As Senior Lecturer, Open Education Resources, she provides leadership that enables the transformation of digital education systems that are intentionally designed and capable of maximising the participation and achievement of all learners.

Biography

Dr Naomi Dale is an Associate Professor of Management and is the Associate Dean Curriculum and Students in the Faculty of Business, Government and Law. Naomi’s current research is concerned with Learning and Engagement and she is on various working groups looking to increase access and participation such as RAP working group, Student Voice Aus, Ally Network, Equity and Success committee, Retention Project Team and Indigenising the Curriculum Community of Practice.

Biography

Dr Rosetta Romano is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Science & Technology at the University of Canberra. Her research interests are concerned with the use of information systems called ontologies (describing concepts and their relationships, in a domain, for a community), Indigenisation of the curriculum in the Information Technology discipline. She is a member of University Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group and Co-chair of University Indigenisation of the Curriculum Community of Practice.

Dr Blooma John is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Science & Technology at the University of Canberra. John is the past-president of Association for Information Systems Special Interest Group of Education. She serves as the Associate editor of Communications of the Association for Information Systems and track co-chair of Australasian Conference on Information Systems. She has published in various Journals and international conferences. She has won the University of Canberra Commendation for Outstanding contribution to student learning and RMIT Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.

Dr Wayne Applebee is a proud Kamilaroi Elder. His knowledge about yarning has been of core value in the use of yarning circles to capture the students’ and teachers’ voices in evaluating the Indigenisation of the curriculum.
