Biography

Tulsa Andrews is the Director (Lecturer), Teaching Quality and Learning Design for Federation University’s central learning and teaching unit. With an extensive teaching and professional learning career spanning over 25 years in industry, primary, secondary and tertiary sectors, her current role includes managing a team of central lecturers and learning designers, coordinating the university’s learning and teaching awards and increasing academic engagement with the scholarship of learning and teaching. She is research active with a number of learning and teaching publications and conference proceedings, holding a Master in Education from Monash University and Bachelor of Nursing from Deakin University, in addition to a number of postgraduate and TAFE certificates. Associate Professor Loretta Garvey is the lead for Assessment Transformation at Federation University which aligns with her passion for research and implementation of innovations in assessment and active learning. Her expertise in this space has been informed through her studies at the Harvard Macy Institute, Boston, USA, on Education and Assessment in health professions education. Loretta’s experience in higher education has been based in the disciplines of nursing and medicine at Swinburne and Monash University. Her PhD research explored the readiness of year 1 and 2 MD students to engage in problem-based learning and her other research interests are in the areas of mental health and aged care.

Biography

Ming Cheng is a Professor of Higher Education at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. Her research interest includes quality evaluation, curriculum internationalisation, postgraduate learning and supervision, international student experiences and mobility.
