Dr Xueqing Lu received her PhD degree in the application of VR for construction safety management in 2022 in UNSW, and she has worked as an immersive tech specialist in the Media & Immersive team in UNSW Education since 2017. She is also a course demonstrator in UNSW’s Master of Simulation and Immersive Technologies program. She has over 10 years of experience studying the application of immersive technologies in education, supporting immersive classes, and creating immersive teaching content across multiple disciplines.

Preservice teachers’ agency in engaging with GenAI – a formative intervention design

Hongzhi (Veronica) Yang is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney, specialising in language education in the initial teacher education program. Her main research areas include language education, teacher education, technology-assisted language learning, teacher emotion, sociocultural theory, activity theory, and language assessment. She is the author of two academic monographs on English Language Teaching Reform and English Cooperative Learning. She has published 20 journal articles and 6 book chapters in prestigious international journals and books. In terms of language pedagogical innovation, she uses activity theory-based formative line interventions to effectively promote collaborative learning, agency, and cross-cultural language learning. She effectively combines the design of formative intervention and collaborative learning with online learning and AI-assisted learning.
