Melissa Reed is a Lecturer in Applied Linguistics and TESOL at Macquarie University and the Course Lead for the Graduate Certificate of TESOL. She has decades of experience in adult education, including English language teaching and management and postgraduate TESOL teacher education. She is passionate about professional development and teacher education, which is reflected in her research and practice. She is currently investigating the implications of dialogic approaches in higher education.

Dr. Rohini Balapumi is a lecturer and Deputy Director of Learning and Teaching in the School of Management and Marketing at Curtin University. Coming from a computing background, her research explores Generative AI in higher education, focusing on its impact on learning, assessment, and academic integrity. She has implemented AI-driven pedagogical innovations in programming education and collaborates with colleagues to extend these practices across disciplines, fostering transformative learning experiences.
With over a decade of teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate education, Dr. Balapumi integrates design thinking and reflective practices to enhance student engagement. She has contributed to research on learning analytics, assessment design, and AI literacy, co-authoring Management Information Systems: Harnessing Technologies for Business & Society.
A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), she is committed to advancing technology-enhanced learning and ensuring ethical AI integration in assessment, aligning with HERDSA’s focus on higher education innovation.
