Biography
As an early researcher in the dynamic fields of data science and information systems, Qishang Chua has cultivated a diverse academic background that bridges technology, finance, and educational innovation. His educational journey spans two prestigious Australian institutions: the University of Canberra where he completed a master’s degree in information technology and systems (specialised in Data Science), and the Australian National University, where he earned a double bachelor’s degree in actuarial studies and commerce (major in Finance). Qishang’s research interests converge at the intersection of technology and education, as evidenced by a recent contribution to the "Online and Autonomous Teaching" paper, presented at the Australasian Conference of Information Systems (ACIS) in 2024 where his work explores flexible learning methodologies in the context of pandemic-induced educational transformations.
Dr Nicole Crawford

A house of cards? Experiences of students from equity and diverse backgrounds navigating university
Biography
Dr Nicole Crawford is a researcher and educator in higher education, currently working on research projects at the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE), Deakin University. She was a Senior Research Fellow (2020-2022) at the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) and a NCSEHE Equity Fellow (2019-2020). Prior to the Fellowship, she was a Lecturer in Pre-degree Programs at the University of Tasmania (UTAS). Her research focuses on equity and inclusion in higher education, enabling education, and student and staff mental wellbeing. She initiated UTAS’s Social Inclusion Community of Practice and the National Association of Enabling Educators of Australia (NAEEA) Special Interest Group on Mental Health.

Biography
Joanna Tai is Associate Professor at the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE) at Deakin University. Her research in assessment focuses on inclusion and diversity, feedback literacies, developing evaluative judgement, and student experiences across the university and workplace. Joanna is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professions Education, and the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction. She has a background in medicine and health professions education.

Dr Noosha Ehya is a Senior Lecturer and Subject Coordinator in faculty of Health Sciences at TUA. Noosha applies active learning and metacognition in teaching to enhance deeper learning. She is interested in research in education and finding strategies to improve the curriculum. She has been a member of Scholarly Teaching Think Tank working group since 2022.

Dr. Saher Ali, is a Senior Lecturer with 2 decades of teaching in Health and Medical Sciences. Alongside completing her PhD, she possesses training in anatomy and physiology pedagogy. Saher combines her knowledge and experience to enhance student learning outcomes, curriculum design, digital literacy in academics and academic integrity.
