Biography

Dr Daniel Andrews is an education focused Lecturer within the School of Biomedical Sciences at Monash University. After completing his PhD at Monash University in Structural Biology, he turned his attention to delivering quality engaging Science education. Having had roles as an academic and learning design roles, Daniel strives to creating learning environments to provide transformative educational experiences for students. His research interests lie in unpacking the complexity around how students learn and the ways in which we can encourage students to become lifelong learners.

Identities in Biomedical Sciences: Student Motivations and Career Aspirations with a Focus on Indigenous and Cultural Perspectives

Biography

Dr Rachelle Singleton is a Professional Teaching Fellow at the University of Auckland's School of Medical Sciences. She teaches pathology to undergraduate Bachelor of Science students on various specialisation programmes (physiology, anatomy, medical imaging, and nutrition-dietetics) as well as students in the medical, optometry and pharmacy clinical programmes in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. She has a strong research background, including post-doctoral work at Oxford. Dr Singleton has published in high-impact journals and worked as a commercial scientist at Caldera Health Ltd. Recently, she has focused her research efforts on understanding biomedical science students' identities and career aspirations. Dr Singleton is also the Co-Director of the BSc Biomedical Science program at the University of Auckland.

Dr Sasha Nikolic

Testing the Application of the Project-work Artificial Intelligence Integration Framework

Biography

Sasha Nikolic is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong and holds a PhD in Engineering Education. He previously worked as a Laboratory Manager at the same university and spent several years in industry. Dr Nikolic has received many teaching and learning awards, including an Australian Award for University Teaching citation in 2012 and 2019. He has a vibrant history of governance roles across the IEEE and is 2025-26 President of the Australasian Association of Engineering Education. Sasha is also an Associate Editor for the European Journal of Engineering Education. He is also President of the Australasian Artificial Intelligence in Engineering Education Centre.
