Biography

Kexin is a second-year PhD candidate in Higher Education at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Her research explores academic motivation and first-year experiences of international students from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds, focusing on their transitional challenges and opportunities. She also works as a research assistant, contributing to studies on PhD graduates' career trajectories. With a diverse international background and a commitment to cultural inclusivity, Kexin actively engages in academic and community initiatives. Her work has been recognised with awards for academic presentations and university ambassador contributions.

Biography

A/Prof Guy Curtis is an academic in the School of Psychological Science at the University of Western Australia. Guy has researched academic integrity topics for over 20 years and has authored over 55 research articles with many published in high-impact higher education and psychology journals. He has worked on national projects for TEQSA on academic integrity and won Studiosity's inaugural Tracey Bretag prize for contributions to academic integrity. Guy has edited books on academic integrity, including a section of the recent Second Handbook of Academic Integrity. He is also a current Co-Editor of HERDSA's flagship journal Higher Education Research and Development.

Biography

Mr John Taplin is a Lecturer and holds a teaching and learning position in the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Science, Curtin University, Bentley. He completed a Master of Clinical Nursing (Intensive Care Stream) in 2014. Mr Taplin has over 12 years’ experience working clinically in critical care and is a member of the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses National Education Advisory Panel. He has 15 years’ experience in higher education teaching and learning. Mr Taplins research interests include advanced life support education, learning and assessment design, and assessment feedback. He has published in peer-reviewed journals. Mr. Taplin teaches both undergraduate and General Entry Masters nursing students, supervises Master of Nursing Practice Course students enrolled in Australia and Singapore, and has served as the School of Nursing Fieldwork Coordinator, Curtin.

Biography

Dr. Fatch Kalembo is a Senior Lecturer and holds a teaching and research position in the School of Nursing at Curtin University. He completed his PhD at Curtin University in 2018 and subsequently served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the same institution for two years. Dr. Kalembo's research interests include teaching and learning, fathering, and HIV. He has published more than 40 articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and serves as an academic editor for the PLOS ONE journal. Dr. Kalembo teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students in Australia and Singapore and has served as the Course Coordinator for the BSc Nursing (undergraduate) and the Master of Nursing Practice courses.

Heather Gaunt (PhD, B Music, BAHons, PostGDip Art Curatorial Studies, GCertHigherEd) is an Academic Specialist with the Museums & Collections Department, University of Melbourne, with over 30 years-experience in the fields of museums and tertiary education. Her role focuses on interdisciplinary teaching & learning for tertiary students using campus art galleries and museums, across all faculties; online and global innovations in museum-based tertiary education; medical and health humanities education; and Scholarship of Teaching & Learning research.
