Biography

Dr Cherie Lucas, PhD, BPharm, Grad Cert Edu Stud (Higher Educ), FPS, SFHEA is the UNSW NEXUS Fellow at the School of Population Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health. She is the recipient of 8 innovation in teaching, learning and research awards including the 2019 Australian Award for University Teaching (AAUT) Citation for the individual category for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. Dr Lucas is a licenced pharmacist for over 35 years and currently resides on the Pharmacy Council of NSW as the Deputy President, Australia. Her educational research interests include curriculum design and instruction, developing reflective practice tools and assessment strategies to enhance student engagement, experience and learning and building artificial intelligence (AI) capability for educators and students. She has led teams in interprofessional education and reflective practice and published over 85 SoTL papers, with 55 as First or Senior author. Her work has been presented at international conferences (Scotland, Italy, Canada, Manchester, Belgium) or as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Nottingham (UK) and Cardiff University (Wales).

Biography

Dr Mark Ian Jones is a UNSW NEXUS Fellow, design historian and a Chartered Architect in the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture, School of Art and Design. He has extensive experience in systemic approaches to curriculum design and innovation, the affordances of AI in assessment and assurance of learning. Dr Mark Ian Jones has held several academic leadership positions at UNSW since 2015 including Nexus Fellow, ADA Director Education Innovation, Deputy Head of School (Design) and Program Director Bachelor of Design.

Biography

Pengjuan Wang is a PhD candidate at The University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include the academic profession, journal peer review, science and technology studies, and the internationalization of higher education. She received her Master's degree in Higher Education from Xiamen University in 2021, and her Bachelor's degree in Public Affairs Management (with a focus on Education Management) from Shaanxi Normal University in 2018.
