Biography

Richard has a combined BSc/BEd (Hons) in Environmental Geography and Secondary Education and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has worked in education for over a decade in various roles, including as a Manager: Educational Design, Learning Designer, Casual Academic, and High School Teacher. As an educator, his philosophy is guided by Critical Pedagogy through which he aims to help learners to empower themselves to critically examine and challenge power structures, develop critical consciousness, and actively participate in creating a more just and equitable society.

Biography

Dr Louise Maddock (she/her) is a Senior Lecturer (Academic Development) in the Centre for Education and Innovation at the Australian Catholic University, Brisbane, Australia. As an academic developer, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Higher Education Learning and Teaching Academy at ACU, she mentors and nurtures critical educational practices of educators and students towards empowered individual and collective self-expression, self-development and self-determination. Louise is interested in equitable education, compassionate pedagogies and neurodiversity-affirming practices and praxis.
