Biography

Esther Adama (PhD, BSc [Hons] MSc, GradCert HE). Esther is a Senior lecturer at Edith Cowan University School of Nursing and Midwifery and Research Fellow at Perth Children’s Hospital. Esther’s research interest lies primarily within the framework of child and family nursing, specifically on the support needs of parents in the neonatal unit and health outcomes of children and young people and their family. Esther is also interested in scholarship of teaching and learning projects to enhance students’ learning experience within Higher Education.

Biography

Following a background of working in ambulance as an Intensive Care Paramedic, Clinical Educator and as a lecturer in undergraduate paramedicine, Leigh moved to Australia in 2012, accepting a position with the University of Tasmania. As a senior lecturer Leigh teaches undergraduate and post-graduate paramedicine while working toward completing a PhD focused on the practice of altruism, compassion and care in paramedicine.

Empowering Journalism Students as Partners: Creating Inclusive Learning Experiences in Media Law and Ethics

Biography

Thomas obtained his PhD in Media Studies from Edith Cowan University, Australia in 2002. He teaches Media Law and Ethics and Intercultural Communication at the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry, Curtin University, Australia. Thomas has presented numerous international conference papers and published journal articles, and book chapters in the context of radio and television consumption in Asia. Recently, Thomas won the best paper award for his research presented at the International Conference, 'Emerging Research Paradigms in Business and Social Sciences' organised by Middlesex University in Dubai. Thomas is a life member of Asian Media Information and Communication center (AMIC) the premier institution for research and publications in media and communication. He has examined PhD and Master of Arts thesis for many international universities.
