Biography
Matt Langbridge joined Komatsu in 1998, through the Joy business, and during that time has held a range of positions within the business in technical, sales and leadership roles across Australia, USA and China. With a passion for values based leadership and driving practical technology development, Matt is currently the Director – Sales & Service for Komatsu’s underground business in Australia, and also serves as a non-executive director at leading mining research organisation Mining3. Matt has a bachelor's degree in Engineering from Swinburne University, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Biography
Helen Gibson is the Vice President for Komatsu’s underground soft rock business across Australasia, based out of Rutherford in NSW.
Helen has a Masters in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines in the UK and is also a qualified Human Resources professional, having spent her early career in Human Resource and Learning & Development.
Helen joined Komatsu in 2011 and during her time has progressed through various roles within the underground business, gaining international experience in human resources, service, customer account management, and strategy. Her most recent role, before coming to Australia, was a three-year stint as General Manager of Komatsu’s underground soft rock business in India, rounding off a total of seven years supporting the growth in this market.
Helen is committed to solving customers’ challenges and is passionate about advancing automation technologies in underground mining, recognising their potential to drive safety, efficiency and long-term sustainability for our industry.
In 2024, Helen was recognised as a WIM100 (Women In Mining), a prestigious cohort of 100 global inspirational women in mining and continues to work to further contribute to empowering women in their careers in the mining industry.

Garry Povah is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in mining and automation, currently serving as the General Manager of Mining Automation at Komatsu Australia. With a career spanning over two decades, Garry has developed a deep understanding of the mining sector, focusing on integrating advanced technologies to drive safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
At Komatsu, Garry oversees the development and implementation of autonomous solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of the mining industry. He plays a pivotal role in collaborating with clients, industry partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless adoption of automation systems. His strategic vision and commitment to innovation help position Komatsu as a leader in autonomous mining technology.
Garry is known for his pragmatic approach to leadership, building high-performance teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Through his efforts, he aims to empower mining operations to achieve safer and more sustainable outcomes, ensuring Komatsu remains at the forefront of mining automation in Australia and beyond.
